Bentley or “Big Ben” is ˝ Belgian ˝ American Quarter horse.
Ben has been with us since he was a baby. He is 17” hands tall (a hand is 4”) and is still growing at 5 years old. Crossing the Quarter Horse the most popular breed in the United States with a draft horse breed makes for a very strong and versatile horse. We have yet to meet a person that doesn’t like this guy.

Casino has a natural, 4 beat, lateral gait called the “Paso llano” that is noted for its smoothness and harmony of movement that makes most people giggle and smile.
Paso’s arrived in South America during the Spanish Conquest and were used primarily for transportation and breeding stock. In the north of Peru, the vast size of sugar and cotton plantations meant that overseers needed to travel long distances, often taking days to cross the plantation and in the south of Peru, the arid deserts that separated settlements required sturdy, strong, smooth-gaited horses with good endurance.

Mr. go anywhere do anything kind of guy. Titan is a true loud-colored horse that would have been favored by the Comanche Indians, and is a favorite here at the ranch.
Paint horses were brought to the New World in 1519 by the Spanish explorer Hernando Cortes, for his conquistadors so they could search the vast land for riches.

Bernie - Missouri Fox Trotter
Everybody loves Bernie.
The Fox Trotter was bred in the Ozark Mountain foothills and used by settlers who valued its smoothness. They were used for working cattle ranches and for transportation of local officials, such as the sheriff and local doctor because they can speed fox trot 12-18 mph. They have a unique 4 beat diagonal gait where the horse appears to walk with its front legs and trot with its hind.

Comet, The Mule
A cross between a donkey-the father and a horse-the mother) packs all the supplies for the trail rides. The virtue of a mule is that a mule is pound-for-pound stronger than a horse of similar size and inherits the strong will and higher intelligence of the donkey father. Mules also tend to require less food than a horse of similar size. The mule possesses the sobriety, patience, endurance and sure-footedness of the donkey and the vigour, strength and courage of the horse. Mules are highly intelligent, They tend to be curious by nature and will not let the rider put it in harm's way.

Comet was a birthday gift from a very good friend of ours and we just can't bring ourselves to change her name. So we have Comet the Mule and Comet the Tennesse Walker.

Photos by Ani Trone Photography "Comet" an Old Foundation Tennesse Walking Horse. She started our love for the walking horses. They were originally bred in the South to carry the owners of plantations around their lands. The Walking Horse has a unique 4-beat "running walk" an is especially comfortable to ride. They are good for trail riding because of their smooth gaits, stamina and easy temperment. The Lone Ranger's horse "Silver" was a Tennessee Walker and so was Roy Roger's "Trigger".
Chyna – Tennessee Walking Horse Naturally smooth gait, calm temperament and amazing versatility, there’s really no equine equal for the Tennessee Walking Horse and Chyna is all of the above. With a list of World Grand Champions on her birth certificate- she let’s none of that effect her daily life on the ranch.

She is like driving a Ferrari convertible through the woods, minus the wind messing up your hair!! A Pinto differs from a "Paint" horse solely by breeding. An American Paint Horse must be the offspring of a registered American Quarter Horse. Pinto coloring can be on any breed of horse.

All the kids like to ride Katie.
The Arabian breed is known for its intelligence, spirit and stamina, combined that with the most popular breed in the US, the Quarter horse and add a sweet personality, you have Katie.
